photo of the Balloon Fiesta. The Santa Fe Train Station

The world-famous International Balloon Fiesta is only an hour away from Santa Fe, in Albuquerque, New Mexico, every October. It is the largest hot air balloon event on Earth, with over 500 balloons participating in breathtaking Mass Ascensions and evening Balloon Glows. Santa Fe offers shuttles to the Albuquerque event.

The Santa Fe Depot in New Mexico is the northern terminus for the New Mexico Rail Runner Express commuter train. Opened in 1880, it's central to the revitalized Santa Fe Railyard district, near restaurants, shops, and the city's historic Plaza. It also serves as an Amtrak Thruway bus connection point.
